Unlike an original essay, the function of an argumentative essay is to show your opinion/theory about a certain subject. Comparatively to most essays, you are allowed to use "I" in this form of essay. For example, you are allowed to write "I believe that..." It resembles a debate, except nobody can verbally argue back at you!
An example of a topic for this kind of essay is: should drivers of automobiles be prohibited from using cell phones?
