Allegory

An allegory is a sentence in which the apparent meaning of the characters and events is used to symbolize a deeper moral or spiritual meaning. The ethymology of the word is "to speak as to imply something other."

i.e.The Ant and the Grasshopper - the grasshopper fails to provide for the winter while wasting time mocking the ant.
