In the terms and devices point of view, a myth is legendary story, concerning a hero or an event. It often revolves around fantasies and Gods. Myths remain myths until they are proven to have happened in real life.
For example, the ancient city of Atlantis is a myth, because there is no fact proving that the city ever truly existed.
