Soliloquy

Soliloquy is the act of a person talking to himself/herself. It is most often used in plays to tell the audience what the character is thinking.

For example, if you want the audience to know that one of your character is anorexic, you could have the character say to himself/herself: "Ugh, I hate food, I don't ever wanna eat again!"
